Jennifer Lucchino, RA, Owner and Co-founder

Jennifer is an architect licensed in Pennsylvania since March 2000.  In practice, Jennifer seeks to be involved in projects that can positively impact the community.  Prior to founding inter*ARCHITECTURE, Jennifer's professional experience includes employment by the San Diego Padres as Architectural Advisor for Ballpark Planning (1999-2000), as well as employment at the Pittsburgh-based firms Damianosgroup and Astorino.  During her tenure with these firms, Jennifer had the opportunity to work on such noted projects as the new ballpark for the San Diego Padres, The Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Vatican City and the Early Childhood Center at the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children.

In addition to her work as an architect, Jennifer teaches as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University where she has taught First and Second Year Design Studio, Pre-College Studio and Practice courses since Fall 2003.  Last summer, Jennifer led a study abroad trip for fifteen 4th and 5th year students in Venice, Italy.

Jennifer recognizes the importance of community and endeavors to find opportunities to contribute.  She was recognized in 2005 as one of Pittsburgh's 40 Under 40 for her commitment to shaping our region and making it a better place for everyone.  Jennifer's community involvement includes volunteering as a design consultant for the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh as well as participating as a group leader in a design charrette organized by the Carnegie Museum of Art.  Jennifer's community involvement dates to the mid-1990s when, after moving back to Pittsburgh, she served as a Gallery Attendant at the Mattress Factory (1996-98), then a design consultant for their Office Expansion (1998-2000), as a member of the 25th Anniversary Celebration Planning Sub-Committee (2002) and finally as an invited artist in their "Gestures" exhibition (2006-07).

Jennifer received a Master of Architecture degree from Rice University in 1994 and an undergraduate degree (B.A.) from Georgetown University in 1988 where she studied English Literature, Art History and French and Italian languages.  During these years, Jennifer took advantage of numerous opportunities to study abroad, most significantly completing a one year program at the University of Paris IV and two shorter programs in Tuscany, Italy.
